
After the immense success of CEAT PRO, a unique industry interaction and knowledge sharing platform, CEAT has pioneered yet another first in the industry, The India Road Transportation Awards, with an aim to recognize the transporters who have contributed significantly to India's development story.
The first event was held at Trident Mumbai on June 25, 2010, with Mr. PM Telang, MD, TATA Motors as the chief guest. CNBC TV 18 and Economic Times were the media partners.
This year, the final awards night was held on July 22, 2011, in partnership with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. Mr. Harsh C Mariwala, Chairman - FICCI, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and CNBC TV 18 and Economic Times were the Media Partners.
Intention of the awards
- To set a benchmark of excellence within Industry
- To give stature & recognition to industry players
- Helping in bringing out knowledge and encourage sharing within the Industry.
Awards Process
- Set up a panel of ten independent jury members consisting of logistics heads from diverse industries who are the final users of transportation and logistics services.
- Ernest & Young Pvt Ltd, India's leading consultant, will be the official process validators and tabulators.
- Partnership with CNBC TV 18 and CNBC Awaaz for Electronic media and with Economic Times in Print media for propagation of the awards.
- Involvement of the CXO's of most of the Companies which cater to the Transportation Industry through participation in the awards nite and in the Panel discussion held.
- Event coverage across all major media platforms in the country.
- Endorsement by the Ministry of Road Transports and Highways
The next step undertaken by CEAT in recognizing these Winners is the launch of 'Transporters Book of Excellence' to showcase all the winners of the IRTA 2010 and IRTA 2011 and their innovations. This book was formally launched at the IRTA awards nite on July 22, 2011 at The Trident, Mumbai.
This book will reach out to more than 2000 companies who are customers of the transportation industry. It will also help the companies to make an informed decision in contracting the right type of transporters as per their logistics needs.
